About a month ago I posted a blog about how Mike's roommate Dom was tempting him with treats on the regular.

Well it seems that Kerner finally caved. He went up north with D and tore into some home made cake.

Kerner said he's out of the competition but is going to "try" and stop eating sugar for awhile.

He made it a month, not bad considering last year he only made it 4 hours.

Love you man, its with  heavy heart that I say adios.

And every single one of them caved! They ate the apple! I should have expected it from Stephanie and Jessica, they are quitters by nature. They always quit. V-Rod is a bit of a disappointment, but you cant be cranky with someone so sweet. Cheese got people to cheat because she feels guilty for not doing the competition herself. Typical.

BIGGEST NEWS YET!


I was talking to Kerner the other day and I asked him how the shredding was going!

He said he lost a ton of weight.

I asked him how much.

He replied "At one point I think I was down a pound. But I put it back on already."

He told me he wants to be down 20 pounds when I see him in July.

YOU CAN DO IT KERNER!!! IF ANYONE CAN ITS MIKE!!!!

For anyone that thinks I shouldn't post this picture, Mike has admitted that he has never even seen this blog. So what he doesn't know wont hurt him.

NEWS!

Not much news since no one really texts me shit anymore

So here is what I got..

Mike Schvitz is running sometimes. Every now and then he texts me about it.

Brenna is drinking pineapple juice.

Ash and I both ran 3 miles for time. As always she is faster than me.

Kool Aid pulled a quad during kick ball practice.

TEAM Workout!

I got back from my trip to Florida just in time for a great team workout Kenny had prepared for Tyler and I.  I suppose you could say that all of the workouts we do are team workouts, but lets not part hairs.  The idea is to complete the entire workout (each doing a 2 mile run up hill with 6 different exercises sporadically placed in between) as fast as possible, while communicating with your teammate along the way to distribute the work between you.  Certain movements are easy for me, like squats and inverted burpees, while others are Tyler's strength, such as pull ups and push ups.  We managed to keep it pretty even and worked really well together.  I guess that's a good sign for a newly married couple.  Go us!

So in case you have a workout partner and want to give it a shot, here it is...

Each person starts on a treadmill with the incline set at 3.0.  You each will need to run a total of 2 miles at the same time, keeping your paces the same.  If one gets tired and needs to pull back, the other person must do so too.  Here's the fun part- every 2 minutes you have to raise the incline by 1.0.  So, at 2 minutes into the run, you're raising it to 4.0, at 4 minutes you raise to 5.0, and so on.  Obviously the lower the incline, the easier it is, so the incentive is to cover as much ground at the beginning as you can.  Now, here's the even more fun part.  Every 2 minutes and 25 seconds, you push pause on the treadmill, hop off and both complete a team task.  The task is done one at a time, meaning when I'm working, Tyler is resting.  As I said, you can divide up the work however you want, you just have to make sure at least one person is moving at all times.  Both can't rest at once! As soon as you complete the task, get back on those treadmills and get towards that 2 mile mark!!


Here are the tasks to be completed, in order:
@ 2:17 - 50 inverted burpee 
@ 5:41 - 60 dumb bell front sq. 25lbs for the ladies & 35 for dudes.
@9:57 - 70 pullups 
@ 12:43 80 Kettle Bell swing 40 lbs for chicks & 50 lbs for dicks
@ 15:39 90 pushups 
@ trainers challenge pace  100 sit to stands



@ 2:17 - 50 inverted burpee 
@ 5:41 - 60 dumb bell front sq


@9:57 - 70 pullups

Alexis's Slop-Body Situation!

Here's the difference of a few days.
Day 2: Predrinking and pre sugar temptations (that lemon drop was just vodka and a lemon slice for mine -- no sugar) 
Day 3:  slightly bloated and annoyed and obviously looking a little more sloppy

Day 4: Me, super hot/sunburned, and awaiting my ice cream -- and not wanting a pic taken:
I could feel my rolls hanging over my pants. It was gross.
I kept a sugar journal when I was there to write what I was eating that wasn't "on diet" to at least be mindful of my choices and not just eating to eat.  I got really down my last night there and thought maybe the sugar made me feel better temporarily.  Plus, those girls bought the worst groceries.  Oreos and peanut butter crunch for bfast!  Gross, I didn't do it.
I've decided I've substituted nice, fancy cheeses for sugar cravings or some days too much fruit eating.  I'm trying to think what I can change about those two things...  I need to regroup again.  So far no sugar for 2 days, or at least today is day two.  I'll weight myself at the gym tonight.  :(

As I was on my run I came across this and it is the only thing that slowed me down, 70 days more and some kid, some where, is supporting the sugar free shred.....

Guess Who Ate Ice-Cream?!

Ash was in Florida for a few days and had a hard time staying sugar free! There was one instance in particular where the family decided to stop at a homemade ice cream stand and partake in some devouring of sweets! Well sweet vindication was on its way to visit! The baby shit his pants due to his disability to digest the sugary complicated concoction! VINDICATION!!!

WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME!?

Dear Tyler, I cheated on my diet. It was almost impossible to go on vacay in FL and not have key lime pie (homemade)...and the healthiest grocery we had was bread w/peanut butter. And I caved several times on the margaritas... And A few other things. My stomach has hurt and been puffy for days. :( I lost...after I won. Back on track today though.

NEWS NEWS NEWS!

I was lucky enough to go to not 1 but 2 NBA games this weekend! Very fun time except this guy kept getting in my view and saying "Candy? Candy? Candy?" It was driving me bonkers! 2 days in a row!

I also did a yoga class this morning with Grace!


Baby Kate is amazing as always! She sends me regular texts and messages, and I think she even reads the blog! I can only assume since no one ever messages me I'm all alone out here on this thing. (Is that a desperate plea for someone to please send me some shred news, YES!)


Here's an excerpt from a message from her-


Half hour on the elliptical and 20 min of abs on Tuesday night. I've been missing Bikram since I'm on travel this week. Drove into Portland (45 min) to catch a class tonight. But BING-411 lead me astray with some shitty directions, so I didn't make it in time. Damn dumbphones! Back home and into the groove...
Thursday 1/2 hour on elliptical + some abs
Friday 1 1/2 hr Bikram yoga
Saturday 1 hr weightlifting class



Am I proud of BK?! YES! I couldn't imagine being more proud!


Mike Kerner did a 3 mile walk/run! That's the first one for him in a few weeks!

The male nurses response to Tylers "rough day"

The night shift last night, after getting off work at 8 am the previous night

-1:30 pm, wake up after far to little sleep because my apartment complex has decided that 87 degrees is an appropriate temperature for indoors, play on my computer and prepare for my daily work out

-2:30-3:45, rep P90x to the fullest, on this particular day legs and back was the workout, I see alot of things on this blog about how tough the "LA workouts" are but i cant believe they're much tougher than Tony Horton can dish out, you think you're having a rough day try 90 seconds of one legged wall squats in the middle of an already intense leg workout!

4:00- 6:00 preparing dinner and getting ready for work, of course at this time of year this time of day is heavily influenced by how good the basketball game is on TV.  but generally this is when I enjoy an amazing sugar free protein shake then prepare some chicken and veggies for my dinner.  Luckily on this day my apartment complex decided to turn of all the hot water in the complex so I was able to enjoy one of those ice cold water baths that Tyler and Ashley always enjoy after their workouts.....I have to say I didnt find it quite as refreshing as a replacement for my normal shower.

6:00-7:00, drive to work, yes it takes me a full hour to go the ten miles from my apartment in Alexandria to the hospital I work at in Georgetown. You west coasters think you know what bad traffic is all about but you have no idea.  The capitol city has to have the WORST traffic in the US.

7:00-7:15, during this time we have shift report for the oncoming shift in the ER, luckily for me as the only sugar free shredder in the ER, this is usually the time that such world famous bakery's such as Georgetown Cupcake (from DC Cupcakes on the Food network) and every other baker who wants to be just as famous decides to bring by their, "samples of the day" in the hopes that by influencing a few public service attendants they can influence the world...but still I resist.

7:15 pm -0100 am, Work tirelessly to take care of unappreciative people, who generally think that I exist not only to cater to their medical needs but also to their personal needs....things I was asked last night...(this blanket isnt warm enough to you have another blanket warmer? Is this ice filtered because I cant drink this water if this ice is unfiltered!  Why did you put ice in my water, I cant take my pills if there is ice in the water? And the quote of the night from one of our frequent homeless drunks..."I cant believe you would give me a red apple! I only eat green apples you stupid cracker!"

1am, finally lunch time has arrived and I can enjoy my turkey sandwich and artificially sweetened diet soda that Tyler so graciously bequeathed me, but alas, it is one of the travelers last nights and cake has been ordered along with a plethora of non-diet sodas.  Easy right? Exactly all I had to do was socially exile myself from sugar socialization and explain no less than 5 times that I'm on a sugar shredding diet started by my friend who is a hand model in LA (love you tyler)

1 am-4:45am back to work through what is probably the easiest part of the shift..its mainly a blur of abdominal pain and college kids who cant hold they're liqour

5 am-7 am  this is where it gets really tough, the breakroom is a battlground of half eaten cake, untouched cupcakes and a box of doughnuts that came from God knows where!  (I literally dont know where these doughnuts came from, but I noticed the majority of them were chocalate covered)  At this point I shift to chugging bottles of water to stay full and creepily smelling half eaten pieces of cake.

7am -8am  My shift finally comes to an end, I shuffle out to my car in the freezing cold (not everywhere has 78 degree weather 24/7) and drive home to my apartment.  I usually sit on my couch for about 5-10 minutes and congratulate cadance on another sugar free day and then I'm back to bed to sleep through a day that's sure to be gorgeous only to get up and do it all over again........but I have to say

I'M 28 DAYS SUGAR FREE AND I WOULDN'T CHANGE A SINGLE GODDAM MINUTE OF IT!!!!!

FUCK OFF HOLLYWOOD!!!!

BEING ON SET ALL DAY IS NO JOKE!

Its super difficult, so I decided to take you through a day on set!

7am - Arrive and have your choice of ANYTHING you want for breakfast! French toast, chocolate chip pancakes, every kind of cereal you could imagine, fresh made granola, EVERYTHING!
I had an egg white omelet with veggies!
8am- Craft Services is set up! Everything is there, candy, ice cream, cookies, chocolate covered everything. This station stays open all day long! About 50 feet from where I sit.


10am- Freshly made tuna and avocado bowls are passed out!


11:30am - Fresh fruit smoothies are passed out! Did they have sugar in them? YOU BET!


12:30 LUNCH ORDER TIME! As if anyone really needs this right now!

1-2 Lunch - You can order ANYTHING you want from ANYWHERE... Yes I just said that, anywhere! Then they go get it for you, and they don't make you feel bad about ordering salads and soups with your food! When I finished my salad order the girl said "What do you want for dessert?" as if it was expected. EVERYONE HAD DESSERT BUT ME!!

2:45 Hot freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!?!??! The director Robert is a good friend of mine and these are made specifically because he loves them!

3:30 Hummus dip with bread cheese and olives!?


4pm - Wrap and go home!

This wasn't as bad as the last time I shot with this company! Last time I was there, they had an ice cream truck show up! The truck is called CoolHaus and its AMAZING! You can have any kind of ice cream you want with any kind of cookie! They have crazy flavors so the options are endless!



This was the hardest day yet for me!

T-Mans update from the front lines!

I know today was slack, I usually like to blog at least once a day and today was hard to do that!

I had a call time of 7am in Eagle Rock (aka really far away)

Let me tell you... this was the hardest day yet. By far. I almost caved. For those of you who don't know the life of an actor, there is a little thing we call craft service in this business. For some reason the powers that be like to keep everyone surrounded by food at all times! ALL TIMES! There is a truck filled with goodies always. There is usually a guy walking around handing out smoothies, chocolate chip cookies, and pudding. (seriously all today)

There is also a completely separate breakfast bar and lunch truck that caters! Its crazy!

This is about 1/4 of the truck lay out! Its scary being sugar free and in this beast of a mobile!

Anyway, I was on set all day so I didn't get to blog properly, and I'm back on a different set tomorrow at 6am! So if you're reading this and want to help me out by writing a blog, please do! Or send me a pic for the pic of the day! I'm staying strong and keeping focus on my goals! :)

Labor Pains Take 2!

HOLY BALLS I AM TIRED!
Literally my arms are shaking right now while I'm typing this! We went back today and tried Labor Pains again! Ash and I both set PR's (Personal Records)


As always Ash destroyed me! She beat my time by quite a lot! I finished in at 34:55! And she came in at 30:20!

Seriously everyone... If you haven't tried this work out yet DO IT! Its CRAZY! If you live near me and want me to coach you through it I would be more than happy to! If you want to ask me questions about it on the phone, call me! I can tell you anything you like! Just go do it!

1/4 OF THE WAY AND PEOPLE ARE SHREDDING!

CONGRATS EVERYONE! We made it 1/4 of the way! That means we are 25% done with the sugar challenge!

There are some serious gains that need to be reported!

First off, Mama Kerner has lost 12 pounds! She started a little before the challenge but she is killing it! Her niece was in town with friends and in true Mama Kerner fashion her house was like a bakery! Rice Krispie Treats, chocolate chip cookies, and ice-cream! Mama didn't lick the spoon once, NOTHING! We are soooo proud of you! Keep it up!

Winters has lost over 2 inches to her waistline! Keep shredding W!

D-Thom has lost almost 16 pounds!!!!! Thats right everyone!!! 16!!! You put in the work and you WILL see results! (Except you Lannie.. Genetics only go so far) He started at 215 pounds and his goal is to end up at a lean fighting weight of 185! You can do it D-Thom! I just need your motivation to run off on Mike K!

Looks like i wont be getting any sleep on this tummy anytime soon!
